Email: Secure Email

Email for Moderate and High Risk Data

The Secure Email service is designed for faculty, staff, and students who need to use email to send Moderate or High Risk Data.

The Stanford Secure Email service is designed as an opt-in service. The service assumes that a Stanford community member can identify whether or not they need to use the service. If you aren't sure if the data you are sending to a non-Stanford Email account qualifies as data that must be encrypted, please see the Risk Classification guidelines.

  • Easy to use for busy medical employees who must comply with HIPAA guidelines.
