Voicemail Service

Voicemail is available to faculty and staff by subscription and is charged monthly to your department’s IT Services bill.

University IT’s voicemail service provides a convenient and cost-effective system for receiving, sending, and managing voicemail messages.

Available for faculty and staff at Stanford University, Stanford Health Care (SHC), and Stanford Children’s Health (SCH), the voicemail service includes options far beyond message-taking — especially in administrative and clinical environments.

  • Store up to 100 voicemail messages
  • Review your voicemail messages either via phone or email account
  • Manage your voice mailbox through an online portal, where you can forward voicemail messages to email with an Microsoft 365 integration

Data security

If you forward voicemail to email, you may receive High Risk Data in your email. Treat it as you would any other High Risk Data. To learn more, please see the Risk Classifications page.

Voicemail is included free of charge in the Business Telephone Service bundle.

Voicemail is available to faculty and staff by subscription and is charged monthly to your department’s IT Services bill. To subscribe to voicemail (or to change an existing service profile), have your Department Contact submit a service order via orderit.stanford.edu, or call the Service Desk:

  • If you work at Stanford Children’s Health, call 5-HELP (5-4357) or 650-725-4357.
  • If you work at Stanford Health Care, call 4-HELP (4-4357) or 650-724-4357.

Voicemail systems are monitored 24x7 for performance and component failures. Systems personnel are alerted to failures and will respond to alerts.
