When your phone is installed, the default login password is set to 1234. After the first time you log in, you should change your password to something other than the default. Your password can be up to 15 digits long.
Changing your password
- On the display, press the Menu soft key.
- Press the Down navigation key to scroll down the list and
highlight User (item #7 on on IP Phones 1140E, 2004, and 2002).
- Press OK.
- Press the Down key to scroll down the list and highlight
Password (item #7 on on IP Phones 1140E, 2004, and 2002).
- Press OK.
- When prompted for your Old Password, enter the
password you are currently using and then press OK.
(The default is 1234.)
- At the New Password prompt, enter your new
password and press OK.
- At the Verify Password prompt, enter your new
password again and press OK.
- Your password is changed. Press OK.
- Press the Quit key to close the menu.
