Introduction
The best way to protect University data is to remove unnecessary data from your computer.
Prohibited data must be removed from your hard drive unless you have explicit permission from the Data Governance Board to have it on your system. This includes things like Social Security Numbers, credit card numbers, financial account numbers, Driver's License numbers, and Health Insurance Policy ID numbers.
If Prohibited or Restricted Data must reside on your computer, you should protect the University's data by encrypting the whole disk.
