Create a Task List

In Stanford Email & Calendar, you can create a list of to-do items using the Tasks feature. You can also create separate Task Lists for different sets of tasks, and share your Task Lists with other team members. For more information about sharing lists, go to the Share a Task List page.

Create a task list

  1. Click the Tasks tab.

  2. In the Overview pane, click New Task List new task list icon .
  3. In the Create New Task List dialog, enter a name for the task list in the Name field.

  4. If desired, change the default color for the task.
  5. Click OK. The new list is now available in the Overview pane.

Add a task to a task list

  1. Click the Tasks tab.
  2. In the Overview pane, click the task list name to select it.
  3. Click Create New Task.

  4. In the Subject field, type the name of the task.
  5. Add Details and Progress information if desired:
    • Add information in the Details box, including the Location, Priority, and name of the Task List.
    • In the Progress box, note the Status, Start Date, Due Date, percentage complete, and a date and time for a reminder email. Click Configure to specify the email address for the reminder.
  6. If desired, enter the task details in the body using the formatting toolbar. You can add an attachment to the task, print, check spelling, and format the task in HTML or Plain Text.
  7. Click Save.

Change the reading pane position in the task view

  1. Click the Tasks tab.
  2. In the Overview pane, click the task list name to select it.
  3. Click View and select the desired reading pane option. You can place the pane at the bottom or on the right, or turn the reading pane off to hide it.

Recover a deleted task

Often, you can retrieve a task after you have deleted it.

  • If you notice the mistake immediately, click Undo.

  • If you need to retrieve a task at a later time, you may be able to restore it from the Trash folder:
    1. Click the Trash folder.
    2. Drag the task to be restored to the desired list.
